The Politecnico di Milano in the beautiful city of Lecco, Italy, recently played host to the annual XR4Rehab congress, and the Corpus VR team was thrilled to be there. The event was a vibrant gathering of brilliant minds, all passionate about the intersection of technology and healthcare. It was an inspiring few days of learning, sharing, and building connections within the steadily growing ecosystem of XR in rehabilitation. With a warm welcome from Marco Sacco and Remco Hoogendijk the 2-day event was kicked off.
A Leap Forward for Corpus VR

We were incredibly proud to showcase the newest upcoming version of Corpus VR. This year, our focus was on a significant enhancement: pre-set exercise programs. Our goal is to continuously improve the clinical workflow for therapists, and this new feature does just that. By providing structured, ready-to-use programs, therapists can set up a session with greater speed and efficiency, allowing more time to focus on the patient.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Professionals at the congress immediately recognized how this addition could streamline their practice, making the integration of VR therapy smoother and more effective.
CSO – Kiki Coppelmans: “We are so excited to finally share our new pre-set exercise programs. This feature has been long in the making and represents a major step in empowering therapists to deliver effective, evidence-based care more efficiently.“
Inspiring Encounters and Community Highlights
A conference is nothing without its people, and XR4Rehab was full of inspiring figures.

A special thank you goes to the legendary Albert “Skip” Rizzo for his keynote speech. It was a fantastic trip down memory lane, reminding many of us of the journey and progress of virtual reality in therapy. On a more personal note, we’re also grateful to Skip for introducing us to the fast-paced fun of Monopoly Deal and for generously gifting us his personal copy of the game. It was a highlight of our downtime!
We were also deeply impressed by the amazing work of Niki Smit and Eva Maršálková from Monobanda. Their award-winning creation, Deep, is more than just an effective breathing therapy tool; it’s a beautifully crafted, calming immersive experience that showcases the profound potential of VR for mental well-being.
Another exciting moment was the official launch of Uptimise.org, a new platform presented by Remco Hoogendijk from the Scaleup4Rehab team. With the goal of becoming the “Netflix for XR health apps,” Uptimise aims to make XR health solutions more accessible for everyone. It’s a bold and necessary step forward for our industry, and we are glad that Corpus VR is one of the launching applications on the platform together with Holomoves. Of course, we can’t wait to see it grow.

Building the Future, Together
The congress culminated in a fantastic closing, where we had the pleasure of sharing great conversations and future-forward ideas with a large group of fellow XR in healthcare enthusiasts. It’s these moments of community connection that truly drive the industry forward. A special mention goes to our insightful discussion with Rob Pereira from Pico. As one of the leading XR hardware manufacturers in the world, Pico has been incredibly supportive of the entire XR in Health community. They have been a steady and reliable partner for us, providing the robust hardware platform that allows us to build our best-in-class XR solutions. Engaging with their team is always invaluable, as it helps bridge the gap between software innovation and the hardware that brings it to life.
Our time in Lecco was a powerful reminder that we are part of a passionate, innovative, and collaborative community. We left feeling energized and more committed than ever to our mission. The relationships we built and strengthened are invaluable, and we look forward to continuing the work of transforming rehabilitation, together.
Thank you to the organizers of XR4Rehab and to everyone who made it such a memorable event. Arrivederci, Lecco! And till next year in Cork, Ireland.
